  •  王觉非博士是美国佛蒙特大学荣誉退休教授、美国弗里曼基金会项目主任。在中国北京师范大学获比较教育硕士学位,在美国佛蒙特大学获教育基础理论硕士学位和教育学博士学位。

    多年从事比较教育和国际教育研究,近二十年重点研究美国中小学开展亚洲文化教育、国际教育和中文教学的政策、策略与实践。在中美两国教育专业刊物上发表大量论文和译著;在中国多部教育专著中发表篇章;最新出版的译著为《中国教育的文化基础》,作者顾明远,由荷兰Brill出版集团出版,并被中国出版总署列入国家项目“经典译著” ;在中国、美国和其它国家重要学术会议上发表多篇演讲和主题演讲。

    王觉非博士创办并长期主持佛蒙特州全州亚洲文化教育项目,该项目在2003年获美国高盛基金会和亚洲协会首次颁发的国际教育优秀奖。创办了十几个适合美中两国教育工作者和学生学习对方文化和语言的项目,为1,500多名美国教育工作者和学生提供了访问中国的条件,为600余名中国教育工作者和学生提供了访问美国的条件,设计了互访内容,管理了互访活动。在美国佛蒙特大学开设了关于中国和亚洲文化教育的多门课程。积极参加美国州一级和全国范围关于国际教育和中文教学的决策工作和实践活动。在二十余年中筹集大量资金,开展中美两国之间的教育交流项目。

    王觉非领导的项目获得一次美国国家级奖励、一次全国性奖励。王觉非本人获得两次佛蒙特大学学校级奖励。

    王觉非博士2008年参加弗里曼基金会,担任项目主任,分管大中小学亚洲教育项目、中文教师培训项目、美国本科生和研究生在亚洲的实习项目。
  • Biography  

  •  Dr. Juefei Wang, Professor of Education Emeritus of the University of Vermont (UVM), and   Program Director of the Freeman Foundation.  He received his Master’s Degree in Comparative Education from Beijing Normal University, China; his Master’s Degree in Foundational Studies of Education and Doctor’s Degree in Education from UVM.

    Dr. Wang has been engaged in research of comparative education and international education for three decades.  During the past 20 years, his research interest has been in Chinese education, education about Asian cultures, international education, and Chinese language instruction in American schools.  Dr. Wang has published in both the U.S. and China, including book chapters, articles, and research papers.  His latest translated book is the Cultural Foundations of Chinese Education written by Gu Mingyuan, published by the Brill Publishers in Holland, and listed as Classic Translated Work by the National Bureau of Publications of China.  He has made multiple keynote addresses and presentations on international education and comparative education at conferences in many countries. 

    Dr. Wang has founded and directed the State-wide Program for Asian Studies in Schools in Vermont.  That program received the inaugural Prize for Excellence in International Education by the Goldman Sachs Foundation and the Asian Society.  He has designed more than a dozen of exchange programs for educators and students in the U.S. and China to learn from each other’s culture and language, created conditions for more than 1,000 American educators and students to visit China and for more than 600 Chinese educators and students to visit the U.S., and has designed the content for the visits and managed the activities.  He has offered several courses on Chinese and Asian cultures at UVM.  He has actively participated in policy making and implementation for international education and Chinese language instruction at both state and national levels in the U.S..  For more than 20 years, he raised large amounts of funding to support education exchange between the U.S. and China and several other Asian countries.

    The programs under the leadership of Dr. Wang received a national prize and a national recognition. Dr. Wang himself received two institutional awards and recognitions at UVM. 

    Dr. Juefei Wang joined the Freeman Foundation in 2008.  As the Program Director, he has been responsible for oversight of the programs of education about Asia in K-12 schools and in higher education, training programs for Chinese language teachers, and the initiative for internships for American college students and graduate students in Asia.
