论文摘要Paper Abstract"Chinese language teaching is important for medicine-majored foreign students which could provide powerful support for the clinical teaching. The medicine-majored foreign students are quite different from the other language learners in many aspects such as learning motivation, learning time, learning content and learning requirement. However the current Chinese teaching cannot satisfy their needs. One of the important reasons is that there are quite limited TCFL textbooks for medicine-majored foreign students.

This article analyzes the character of Practical Medical Chinese which is widely used, including the innovation and deficiencies. Then it discusses the issue of the Chinese teaching materials for foreign students majoring in medicine. For compiling an appropriate Chinese textbook for them, we have to attach equal importance to both Chinese language teaching and medicine knowledge. It should follow the general rule of language teaching, which means to be practical, to be interesting and to make supporting materials such as teachers’ handbook. Besides, it also should stress the medicine professional characteristics, which means to cover more medical contexts, more reasonable organization for the medical Chinese vocabulary and more communicative practice related to medicine topics."
