论文摘要Paper AbstractPlaying games is not only a tool to teach and practice but also a way to assess the effectiveness of teaching and learning. The presentation will concentrate on how to convert students-familiarized games to classroom friendly activities to profit the learning process and to assess the effectiveness of teaching. If games are expected to bring desired results, they must be appropriate to student’s language level and fit to the purpose of the assessment. Many teachers are enthusiastic about using games as "a teaching device," yet they often perceive games as mere time-fillers, "a break from the monotony of drilling" or frivolous activities. However, games can be used to meet the needs of improving the effectiveness of the classroom instruction. The presenter will demonstrate two popular games and discuss how to modify them in order to fulfil different purposes in classroom.
