论文摘要Paper AbstractChina trips and exchange programs provide wonderful opportunities to grow students' proficiency levels and cultural competency, and there are so many cool things you can do before, during, and after each trip / exchange to maximize its potential.

This presentation will provide you with practical examples of all the fun and educational activities that have worked well for American student groups to Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. How do you prepare students for the cultural and language experiences in advance? How can your curriculum support your global travels? How do you communicate expectations to students and their families? How do you model cultural connection and competency throughout your program design? How can you debrief and celebrate your amazing experience afterwards? How can you market your program to garner more community support for the next trip? Indeed, there are so many opportunities to make your cool programs even cooler!

 发言人简介Presenter's BioMeng Li  Lusardi is a Chinese Teacher at Riverdale Country School in New  Year City, developing and teaching all levels of Chinese curriculum to 6th-12th graders as well as organizing the school's China Exchange programs (to Suzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing) and China Trip (to Hong Kong and Taipei).
