论文摘要Paper AbstractChinese language teachers often find their students capable of responding to a certain set of questions or simulated scenarios, but failed to communicate in real life situations. Introducing task-based learning to Chinese language teaching may be a solution to this problem. This presentation will demonstrate the usage of task-based instruction (TBI) in Chinese language classes. In TBI, students are calling Chinese restaurants to order food, interviewing Chinese international students, carrying out a Chinese New Year Celebration events, and conducting research projects in Chinese community. We will discuss how these tasks are designed, planned, conducted and evaluated. The strength and weakness of TBI will also be discussed for the audiences to evaluate its effectiveness in their own teaching.
