论文摘要Paper AbstractMobile assisted language learning (MALL) has transformed language teaching and learning in recent years. A growing body of scholarship has illustrated the various benefits of utilizing mobile devices as a pedagogical tool. Whereas most research focuses on outside-class learning, this presentation draws attention to ways in which MALL can help integrate in-class and outside-class activities. Through a case study of the use of mobile APP WeChat in a Chinese class, the presentation addresses a number of theoretical and practical questions such as: What is the pedagogical implication of the use of the mobile technology? How to choose appropriate mobile technology and weave its use into curriculum design? What is students’ acceptance of MALL? How to assess the learning outcome? The audience will be asked to reflect upon the presented learning activities, analyze the artifacts created by students, and evaluate the assessment plan used to measure students’ learning. Through conversations with the audience, the presenter aims to articulate some principles for the effective use of mobile technology in Chinese language instructions. Recommendations on best practices, cautions about potential pitfalls, and suggestions for further explorations will also be offered.
