Integrating Google Online Tools in Chinese Language Instruction

Effective digital and mobile learning should be an intrinsic part of 21st century language classrooms. (Google Drive is a single file storage application, and now we also have Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Classroom being separate entities.) Participants will learn to: 1) Compose, modify and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using Google apps on the desktop or iPad, 2) Manage communication and assignment hand-outs and hand-ins from the desktop or iPad using Google Classroom, 3) Create an ePortfolio or assignments for Chinese language learners using Google Drive and Google Classroom, 4) Assign homework and projects, evaluate students’ language proficiency (reading and writing skills), and give feedback to students through Google Classroom, and 5) Combine other apps (such as Kaizena) to conduct speaking assignments for AP Chinese speaking practice.
