Incorporate Online Tools to Enrich Language Learning Experience outside Classroom

Promoting language learning outside classroom will impact positively learning outcome. The session will introduce how to use Gmail, Google Drive and YouTube to share class and extensive materials with young Chinese language learners and engage them in language learning after class. It will first use samples to show how Google Drive and YouTube share class worksheets, notes, character writing animation, picture books, videos, etc., and how weekly emails sent to parents work as learning guidance for their children to use the materials. Then, it will share how to use email, google docs and “like”, “view” and “comment” functions of YouTube to track students’ learning process, receive their feedbacks and assess their performance synchronously. Last, it will discuss the dos and don’ts of using the tools. 

Attendants will gain hand-on skills of utilizing online tools to support students’ language learning in non-target and target language environments and homework doing after class.
