Using Assessment in Instruction

Assessment plays an essential role in instruction. It should occur consistently as the unit begins, throughout the unit and as the unit ends. When assessment and instruction are interwoven, both the students and teachers benefit as assessments are part of “teaching for success and assessment information helps students chart and contribute to their own growth. 

During this workshop, we will explore and devise a variety of on-going assessments, including pre-assessment, formative and summative assessments. We will also discuss how we could use strategies to effectively drive instruction and how the on-going assessments help teachers teach for success. The presenter will share multi-ways that we typically assess student s in our classroom.
