Key Success Ingredient – New Program for Improving Teacher Competency

Presented by Ms. Feihuan Yang, Academic Specialist at YingHua Language School (YHLS), located in Central Jersey, offering two sets of curriculum on Sundays: one for Chinese (Mandarin)-speaking students, and the other for non-Chinese (Mandarin)-speaking students.

Ms. Yang will provide an overview of YHLS Professional Development plan, including a new competency initiative.  Her presentation will focus on this latest weekly teacher observation program and monthly professional development meetings where each teacher is given the opportunity to observe other classes to compare their teaching styles or techniques and devise ways to improve their own teaching. She will also share success stories of how this program has significantly improved teacher competency.  With ever-changing workforce, implementing this unique program ensures best teachers are always available to meet students’ long-term learning objectives, especially critical at weekend schools.
