Multi-Media Rich Chinese Instruction Through Technology For Elementary Students

DESCRIPTION:

Research has proven that traditional teaching methods designed to teach Chinese to American students are not effective.  Young learners will quickly lose their initial curiosity and turn their passion into fear and boredom.  Finding a method to maintain their interest becomes a lifelong quest for all Chinese teachers, especially those who instruct younger students.

Integrating technology into your Chinese lessons will resolve most of your predicament, if not all.  Technology-supported instruction will enable you to motivate young learners by engaging their five senses with songs, rhymes, TPR movement, games, attractive images and authentic resources.  You will be having fun with your students while planting the seeds of love for the Chinese language and culture in their young hearts.  In this presentation, I will share some of my technology based, multi-media rich lessons and creative tips on integrating technology with Chinese instruction.
