Topic: How to apply for teaching certificates in NYC?

This workshop is designed to provide necessary information to apply for teaching in NY City public school system. There is a variety of endorsements available for prospective teachers in New York. The presenter will introduce various state certificates, such as Provisional, Permanent, Initial, Professional, Internship, Conditional, Supplemental, Modified Temporary Certification, as well as city Occasional Per Diem License. The presentation will be focused on the reform and new requirements of state certificates effective 02/02/2004. Part of the session will be contributed to frequently asked questions, such as “How can I apply for state certification and city license, time extension…?” “How can I get some of the credits I need?” “How can I be certified by NY State if I go to school in New Jersey or Connecticut?” and “How can I get my foreign documentation evaluated?”
